Growing on Carnations

historymanhistoryman Posts: 141
I was given a packet of Carnation seeds - all germinated well in Greenhouse I then moved them outside all day, but put then under shelter at night and in heavy rain.  They are now getting very straggly - where do I go from here.I would really like to succeed with them so any advice welcome thanks

    Have you got a photo?
They possibly need pinching out. I'm assuming they're a reasonable sort of size though?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Do you know which variety ?  C chabaud tend to be long stemmed but will usually be in flower by now.
Depends when you actually sowed them tho - if only this year, you may need to keep them trimmed back for flowering next year ?
They do tend to get a bit straggly but I only have experience of above mentioned.

When it stops raining I will take photo. The seeds were bought online and came in clear plastic bag and named as "Carnation Violet"
Will post more info later. thanks
