Phlox paniculata - deadhead or cut back?

My phlox paniculata is coming to the end of flowering. Can I have a go at getting it to flower again this summer by either deadheading or cutting it right back?

Once the mophead flower is over, I cut that off and then smaller bunches of flowers pop out lower down from the leaf joints.
Mine are really late this year, only just starting to flower in my garden.

Thank you. Interestingly a couple of mine flowered early (now deadheaded as you suggested) but others are just coming into flower.
