Can anyone please explain to me how to actually deadhead Geum please.
Crossan Personally I just cut off any dead flower heads leaving any good ones and if the whole stem is no longer flowering just cut that off at the bottom. Quite a painstakingly slow job to be honest with a pair of scissors. That applies to my small plants but the large one which has spread everywhere I haven't even bothered with and will leave it to do its own thing until all the flowers have finished. The only trouble with that is the fact that when it started flowering this year it still have good flowers from last year! Has never been without flowers.
Thanks Fran ,from what you say sounds like we're doing roughly the same thing.
