Gardening Gloves

Can anyone recommend, from experience, a pair/make of hard-wearing gardening gloves for digging and pruning etc. Also can anyone recommend a pair/make of hard-wearing but nimble gloves for removing small weeds and potting-up etc.

Sorry but no.  I've tried expensive ones and cheap ones and it doesn't seem to make any difference.  Between OH and me we have a huge pile of left hand gloves in all shapes, sizes and thicknesses.

Expensive but really, really good - I've had mine since 2013 and they're still impregnable

I use the Showa 370 Floreo gloves for just about everything. When they get really mucky they go in the washing machine, and seem to last for ages. I don't do any really heavy duty pruning though.

I second @AnniD's vote for the Showa 370 Floreo gloves. Good size range and good for all sorts of gardening jobs except pruning of thorny specimens. I use the Gold Leaf Tough Touch ones for those tasks.

For pruning, the gold leaf gauntlets are brilliant, and they don't go stiff as board after they get wet then dry, unlike cheap rigger gloves.

I've taught myself to be an ambidextrous weeder.  I've had many left gloves having to commit suttee because the right one has a hole... I'm gradually getting the hang of it.

Teehee Obelixx.  At my last house, as I'm left handed and my neighbour was right handed, we swapped left hands for right hands.  Worked great for us, lol.

Brilliant! I use them for everything!  Weeding, potting, pruning the lot.  We bought a house with a completely neglected garden, so have pulled out my share of thistles, nettles and more.  The only thing that can penetrate the leather, are established bramble thorns.

ooo, I see GW have done some product reviews. I hadn't seen those before. Dry Touch (TM) come out top. I shall investigate.

I'm trying Briers leather washable gloves (after foxes destroyed my last lot). I am enjoying them so far. Why should gardening gloves yet so shredded? It seems way beyond the wear I am giving them.
