Rhododendron advice

I bought this a couple of months ago and popped it up in a bigger pot. Will it stay happy in there? It flowered and I dead headed to tidy it. Did I do it right? Is that new buds for next year? Do I leave the new leaves there?

It won't be happy long term in that pot, but it'll be fine for now.
Deadheading is fine, but any new flower buds won't form until late summer. The buds you're seeing are new foliage.
I'm not sure what you mean about the new leaves though. You would only remove foliage/stems if you're trying to prune it to keep it to certain size, or rejuvenate an old shrub.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks @Fairygirl, I got excited thinking that the buds were new flower buds and that they would reflower. I guess it’s done now and new buds won’t come until later I those are new leaf buds which I just keep.
