He's  crawling up the inside  of the brown bin at the moment

    could be a grey dagger catepillar...

    Foodstuffs: A range of broadleaved trees and shrubs including Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), hawthorns, Apple (Malus domestica) birches, Sweet Chestnut (Castanae sativa), limes, elms and Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia).

    dont think its a vapourer because of the solid stripe along the back. Either way a native tree is probably a fairly safe bet

    I've put him in the middle of a big acer but I think he might have fallen down into the undergrowth.. He'll have to find his own way up.
    I'm pretty sure it's the grey dagger.
