@ Mr Vine Eye, gosh, looks a lovely place and smashing photos. I know the name but can't quite remember where it is?

It’s half way between Driffield and Bridlington in East Yorkshire 🙂

That Graham Thomas is wonderful. I wonder how many plants are there, sited together.

I'm quite interested in the idea of the need for 'ventilation' with roses. You look at a picture of GT and it's dense with leafage and flowers. - as with other photos. I wonder if they spray, was there any info on that? I worry about going too dense - for blackspot etc as I don't spray. I can really understand the attraction of spraying, esp with roses. :D

Was the below a rambler climbing over a tree?

Burton Agnes is a lovely garden we always go for a large family day out for the snowdrop walk.

..I keep coming back to have a look.. despite the proliferation of such great roses, I think my favourite shots there are of the house itself, I always like to see the property, and the narrow pebbly path through a grassy border.. I just love that look, meandering off..

..nice to see Echium pinniana so far north.. just shows what we can grow here..

What a lovely place to visit.  I love the photo of the house that has the glowering grey sky and pink rose and red lupins beneath.

    Thanks for posting.
