Planting under fir trees
I would like to plant in this corner of my garden. But it's under these trees and I'm unsure how to proceed. To the left is an alley way to the front of the hise The lilies were here when I moved in and seem to be doing OK. Apart from some slug damage. I have been checking several times a day for any red bugs but I've never seen anything except spiders. Also, is the white specks on the lilies from the sap of the tree? It appeared after days of heavy rain.
I've grown a few things from seed, which are happy in pots but now is the time to decide what to do with them. This area of the garden gets sun from about 1pm till 4pm.
So my questions are:
- do the lilies look leggy?
- what can I plant here? I have strawberries, blueberries, hydrangea, choiysia, wildflowers, dahlias, coreopsis, rudbeckia and coreposis.
- is this classed as part sun? Does it receive enough sun for my plants to be happy?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
