Design dilema - Tree in the centre of the garden - Yes/No?

The lawned area is the largest part of the garden with leylandii 40ft long hedge on one side.  I thought, perhaps a stunning tiny tree right in the centre of the lawn will break the monotonous, overbearing look of leylandii hedge garden.
SE facing, lots of sunshine in the garden and tree would be no taller than 6ft.

I've attached ideas and wondering if design will work or will it look odd in the middle of the lawn?

I think it will look lovely. I’m tempted to do the same but have such a small lawn it won’t leave any grass to lie on

It would certainly act as a focal point and distract from the hedge  :)
