Could someone ID this plant, please

Hi everyone
I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what the plant is below (picture is sideways for some reason!).
Planted by a previous occupant and it's something I'm not familiar with.

It looks like ground elder. If it is, then no one planted it, it's a rampant weed, not that easy to get rid of.
