It's not a leopard slug. They eat other slugs.

Well he's legged it - or should I say stomached it now so he'll live to bite another day.

  • He/she is a friend - I think Fire meant it IS  a leopard slug  :-)

According to my fancy new slug book this could be the Balkan Threeband Slug. Fun fact: They're noted for having a very small penis apparently. I can't say I've noticed a slug with an especially large one though, but I guess being a slug expert can probably be quite dull and you have to do something to entertain yourself :|

I think leopard slugs have more markings than that one, but next time you could always test it to be sure but putting it in with other slugs.

Just removed three of those hiding under the lid of our wheelie bin! Also relocated a huge toad this morning, hiding under the pile of rhodie branches awaiting shredding. Both gave each other a fright! He/she headed off as fast as it could waddle into the flower bed. Hope it only eats the bad slugs!
