Ideas/inspiration for plants to fill a small area next to new driveway.

Hi all,
We have just had a new driveway laid over an existing concrete one and where the contractors dug out along the edge it has left a small area that is annoying me (probably my ocd), but can anyone recommend a type of plant/flowers that in time will spread and blend in with the edge of the new drive.
Perennial would be ideal, and something that just spreads at low level and doesn't interfere when it comes tome to cut the hedge.

Seems a bit silly, but I'm totally lacking in inspiration.

Thanks.https://share.icloud.com/photos/0AOAaj_pxsV0TEYq2bR2ANIJA

How about  Saxifrage, easy to grow in sunshine and always look neat.

Which way is the hedge facing?

    North.

That is to say, if you stand and face the hedge, you are looking North.

It is resin, and yes..... wasn't cheap.  :(

It is pretty shaded at the top of the drive.

In that case it is a south facing narrow border and as such it is a sunny border?

The top part of the drive (as shown in the photo) is shaded by the house, it only gets sun part of the day as it comes around the house.
