Dahlia tubers- plant the right way up...

Easy right? Well look at this awkward pup. Had to investigate as I potted it up a good while ago with no signs of life when digging about from above.

I'm assuming I'm best to leave it and see how it gets on rather than breaking off the sprouts and potting it up the other way?

    If you plant it as shown, the shoots will turn to grow the right way. The tubers have to be covered.

    you could also plant it with the stem your holding in the compost up to where your fingers are.
    that way the tubers are covered and the shoots can carry on in the same direction.
