Hi all, can anyone id this please, I thought it was geum but not so sure now its grown a bit more. Thanks..

    Looks more like an Astrantia to me.
    There are ashtrays of emulsion,
    for the fag ends of the aristocracy.

    I've never grown Astrantia but just looked them up and they look beautiful, not sure where its come from though.

    It does look like an Astrantia but if you haven’t got any nearby how has it’s self seeded.
    Astrantias are almost in flower now, has yours got any flower buds? 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Yes it has small buds so will know more when they open up

    Looks like a geum to me, hopefully not G. urbanum!
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    I agree with Bob, looks like a geum, possibly urbanum, but I hope not.

    I do have geums Borisii and Mrs Bradshaw nearby.
    Is Urbanum bad news then ?

    It's a weed, or wild flower, and seeds itself.
