Plants? Weed?

Hi
I have an area that was working on last year. I was experimenting and chucked some seed down but nothing happened. This year though the border is covered in what you can see in pic. I only put a few seeds down last year nothing like what would have come up but I have never had these plants / weeds like this before in this area. I still learning about gardening flowers etc so go easy lol

Weed, or dinner whichever way you want to look at it, those are fat hen (Chenopodium album) or one of the several closely related plants. They taste pretty good, but if you do keep one don't let it seed each plant produces thousands of seeds, all of those you see there are probably from just one parent plant
