Advise : Scented Rose shrubs

Hello all, 

I am a complete novice and hence your valuable advise would be much appreciated .
I want to plant a few rose shrubs in my garden ( border ) could you list a few please if you have already tried and tested.

    Gertrude Jekyll is one of the strongest rose perfumes, but quite a large shrub.

    I second Desdemona! Beautiful white from David Austin, also Scepter’d Isle from the same company. Gorgeous pink blooms, lovely scent.
    Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

    Princess Alexandra of Kent is my favourite. Deep pink, strong fragrance. Also from David Austin.
