The one in the paving cracks looks like comfrey to me
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Or maybe the dreaded but pretty green alkanet?
    East Anglia
  • I’ve not seen this flower, the leaves just get bigger and bigger- Perhaps if I left it to get bigger it would flower but I usually just roundup it- seems to come back every year!

I'm not familiar with the plant at all, but have read of trachystemon orientale in Beth Chatto's books.
Large, coarse hairy leaves, spreads well (aka invasive....) Blue borage-like flowers in early spring.
    Just a thought.

Young Foxglove and Symphytum leaves do look similar.

See pics below..showing Symphytum...common name Comfrey...which I believe is what is growing in your paving .
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

    Symphytum leaf on top.
Digitalis purpurea ...foxglove  leaf on bottom.

    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
  • Thank you Silver Surfer for showing the difference- very similar indeed but mine are definitely more like comfrey- I shall just continue to round out as soon as I see them xx
