Identifying this plant

bazabaza Posts: 670
Hello Everyone
Can someone identify this flower please . Its supposed to be a petunia/surfinias.  Seeds were tiny as youd expect but looking at the leaves youd think it's a poppy but if I'm right in thinking poppy seeds are bigger than petunia seeds.
Thanks Baz

Definitely not a petunia. Could be a poppy. Hope it's not a weed. Poppy seeds are pretty small but not quite as small as petunias seeds. Not a surfinia, they are sterile and are grown from cuttings.

How is your allotment coming on this year?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks Busy-lizzie definitely not a weed as we have hundreds growing. I'll just have to see what flowers we get off them might even be a pleasant surprise.
Garden is coming on but slow this year due to this cold weather. Never known it to be this cold still but fingers crossed itll warm up soon.
I'll post some photos soon on the original thread 👍👌

I’m pretty sure it’s a poppy, I have young plants exactly the same.

@baza. Did you buy these seeds from amazon? I saw some on there, I think they’re a con, as Lizzie says, Surfinia only grow from cuttings.
