Olive plant/tree

This olive tree is about 8 years old which I bought from Aldi about 6" tall. It is now about 5' tall but trunk is very thin ( finger thin). My question if I plant it in ground will it be OK. I got some space near big trees, it get good amount of sunlight. Advice please.
