Green Roof Planting
Hello All,
Construction will start on a 6m x 4m cabin at the end of may garden in a couple of weeks.
The cabin will be designed to support a green roof.
To fit in with planning regulations, the cabin will be 2.5m high. It will be a pent configuration.
To maximise the internal ceiling height within the cabin, I'd like to minimise the weight of the green roof, which will reduce the height of the supporting joists.
Can anyone provide assistance/advice about plants which won't need much care and will thrive in thin layer of soil?
My wife are quite keen Irish moss and saxifraga but it's unclear to me how much soil these would need to survive.
Thanks!
