Bee identity? H-FFB?

Any ideas what this bee might be? It seems to be an all dark bee, with no coloured tail that I can see but orange/beige coloured thighs.  I am seeing a lot of them around at the moment in my garden. I'm thinking maybe a female-hairy footed flower bee...?

There must be a hive of those near me. The majority  here are black jobs

No relation to the swollen-thighed flower beetle, the thread-waisted wasp, the bloody-nosed beetle or the unarmed stick insect

Those leg warmers certainly suggest it's a HFFB. The latest issue of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust member's magazine suggests making DIY bee hotels out of cob and apparently HFFBs like to nest in cob walls so that might be a fun thing to try.

I saw my first " black bee "  ever yesterday but unfortunately it had crash landed in my pond and i was to late to revive it.
