multi-season planting

Dear Fellow Gardeners,
I am looking for information how to plant a multi-season pot, that would provide blooms throughout the year. I remember seeing something about that in one of the episodes, but it was a long time ago.....
Any advice would be appreciated!

It would be tricky in a pot. But of course you can switch out the bedding plants used in a pot over the course of the year. In a border you can have a yearly succession from small spring bulbs, then smallish early summer perennials, climaxing in big late summer/autumn perennials; you'd need a pretty big pot to achieve that, but I'm sure it can be done.

However a pot really does lend itself to having the contents changed... you can drop pre-planted black plastic pots inside to make the 'handover' easier.
