@Tack ..oh those great fat buds on Arthur.. lucky you !.. all lovely roses.. great to see you with Pearl Drift, I'd like to know what you think of this one in due course..
@owd potter .. I'm happy to bite my tongue but suffice to say I think you'll be pleased with the colour... and yes @Busy-Lizzie I would say we agree..
Look forward to your mystery climber too @owd potter, do you know I think I have an inkling too, but my lips are sealed!
It’s clearing now, but was very misty and other-worldly here this morning. Still nothing much new to show you, bloom-wise, but here is another of Marie Pavie showing her stamens:
Lots of lovely buds though, Stormy Weather has got some big clusters:

And finally the beast that is Gertrude Jekyll. I removed two-thirds of the canes right to the ground and pruned it back really hard in winter. It just threw up lots of new basal canes in revenge and is more than half-way back to it’s usual height of 6ft already:

Hmm @Nollie . Your Heidi is very different to mine, we thought so last year too but put it down to other factors but those buds are different in every way....
Ah yes, I remember that @Tack, be interesting to compare again when both of ours are in bloom. Roses often behave somewhat differently here in bloom form and colour, but you would think the buds would look the same!

Back to today, well I do my best, just spotted this from the upstairs bathroom window, through mosquito netting, in deep gloom. It was glowing like a miniature beacon in the distance!
@Marlorena and @edhelka you were both keen to see this one I recall. Looks very like Jedmar’s photo on HMF in the Park Tête d'Or, Lyon. Only the first, possibly atypical bloom of course. It will be interesting to see if the blooms get fuller as it develops or if they remain semi-double.

A little chlorosis @peteS, a sign of iron and/or magnesium deficiency, but looks more like iron. Give it a drink with added sequestered iron powder disolved in the watering can and that should do the trick. I usually put a level teaspoon in a 10L can and that does 2-3 roses. You can usually pick a packet up easily in a GC. Have you fed it a general balanced rose food yet? If not, I would do that as well.
