Asparagus

Hi all,

I planted some Asparagus crowns a while ago and so far there has been no growth that I can see.

How long does it normally take to see some growth from the crowns?

    Ours only started to appear 2 weeks ago.  We are in the South East, if you are somewhere colder then they may be a bit behind.  We have had a very dry Spring, so we have been watering them a couple of times a week.

    Thank you for your help,  I have been watering ours also.  I will leave it a while longer before giving up with them.

    Just for future reference in case these don't grow.  Do you know of any decent suppliers and what is the best type to grow?

    I don't know of any specialists @Mark-Eor which are the best type to grow, as we only started growing them last year.  You might find this article, by an Asparagus specialist, helpfu.

    I think we got ours from one of the big seed specialists (Dobies or Suttons).  We are growing Guelph Millennium and F1 Erasmus.
