Furry plant

Hello fellow gardeners, could you please help me identify this plant that seems to have rooted all over the garden of a friends house and we don’t know what it is, thanks!

It looks like it could be Rhus typhina (stag's horn sumach) which suckers like crazy, especially if you prune them.  It'll be a battle to remove.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Great thanks Bob definitely looks like that in bud. Loppers coming out...

If you don't dig the roots out it'll soon be back with a vengeance.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

If you want rid and cut it down to the ground @simon castle be sure to treat the stumps with full strength SBK brushwood killer.  Even then, it will send up new suckers far away from the original tree and you can treat those with the same stuff.  Eventually, it will give up.
