Allium flowers growing all curly?

edited April 2021 in Plants
Hello, quite new to gardening, only started a couple of years ago, brought a load of allium bulbs different types. Planted up over autumn, there starting to open flowers, however there all "curly" is this normal, or have I done something wrong. Thanks in advance

Some do that, they’ll straighten up.
I would suggest you split them up after they’ve died down though, they look very congested in there.

  • I know I thought that too, I followed the instructions for depth and space to the letter, hehe. Once flowered they will all end up in the garden, as in process (slowly) of transforming the garden, hehe. Thank you for putting mind at ease. First time with allium.

They’re fine for the first year, they’ll love it  free in the garden. Looking forward to seeing a photo when the flowers are in full bloom🙂
