I would like some of these plants-but what is the name? (pic)

I think these plants are probably perennials, as I seem to recall seeing them last year possibly, and they look quite well established.

I took the photo as I passed someone's gate this morning, as they were sort of draped over the boundary wall. Quite a nice display when there is such a  vast amount of small flowers together like that.

It looks like Aubretia to me, but I am no expert. I just really like them and always notice them at this time of year.

It's an aubretia, should be a good selection at the garden centre at the moment.

They'll grow in most soils but prefer it a little alkaline, which is why they like growing over walls etc.  I always push a couple of bits of cement rubble in the soil near them.  Pollinators love them and in a sunny spot they can have a few flowers for most of the year, as well as the main spring & summer show.

That's interesting Bob , regarding the rubble. I'll keep that in mind, together with the tip about a bit of lime. 

I've just got off the phone to the  nursery, and I described the colour as purple. The guy said,  "I've got some blue ones". I thought the one in my photo was purple, but maybe I am wrong? 🌞

The 'blue' ones are really purple but tending towards the blue side.  The usual thing with 'blue' flowers in general.

Edit: The old mortar rubble provides the lime, so no need to add more (unless your soil is very acid.)

They don't come in true blue so they'll be purple, but more towards blue than towards magenta.
