Verbena B. for shade?

Does anyone know if Verbena Bonariensis will be alright in the shade?

I guess I must have read somewhere that they do ok in the shade, but I forget where, and the only advice I can find on the subject suggests they want full sun (partial shade at best).

Would be grateful for any advice.

It'll get very drawn out in shade. Better to plant something else.

I have planted three - in tubs, in the shade of our shed and they seem to grow fairly well. In fact I have the same plants for two or three years before having to start again with new seedlings.

It will grow a bit but it won't be happy and it won't seed in the shade.
The only ones in the shady -ish side of my garden were probably introduced in my weedy mulch.  The shadier end  has none and they grow like weeds in the border and out of the path on the sunny side.
