Dry compost
I came across something for the first time today...bone dry compost. It was a bag of JI No3 bought from my local GC. When I opened it, what is normally nice moist, dark compost, was completely bone dry, and an arid light brown colour, and contained none of the usual grit and body you normally associate with No3 compost, it was very fibrous almost like MP. Even when I wet it, it still looked nothing like it should have. I think it's either old spent compost which has been hanging around for too long, or it's something other than No3. Has anyone come across this before, and do you think it needs replacing.
