Is this a weed?

I found this growing in one of my house plant pots. Don’t know what it is, so I popped it in a pot to see what it did. It’s grown very long and lanky, I put it outside and it’s continued growing. ( the squirrels have knocked the pot over as well) 
Is this one for the bin?

    It's a lily of some type, I believe.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    That would be nice! I did have some lilies in pots last year, don’t know how it got into the one it was in. I’ll organise a better home for it, and some tlc.
