Hello! Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this damage to this plant, which I think is a Malabar Melastome? Would feeding it help, or is it beyond help?

I used to have some of those in my front garden. It rarely got berries but the form and foliage was beautiful. A really well behaved little shrub. I hope you can nurse it back to its rightful beauty.
Any plants you're not sure of, post a pic and I'm sure we can help
