Is there any hope for this Rosemary?

WildliferWildlifer SomersetPosts: 52
These two Rosemary bushes were left in a planter in the house we bought and I gave them a bit of a prune and a feed about a month and a half ago now, but I’m not sure if I’m flogging a dead horse.

they’re so sparse and straggly. Worth saving? Would they fair better planted into the ground?

any help or opinions welcome

Take cutting from them. I find heeled cuttings of rosemary take really well ... then if you decide they’re too far gone you can start again.

You may have pruned a bit too early with the late frost’s we’re having but you won’t see growth from the woody bits anyway iirc.

The one on the left still looks lively, if not picturesque now I suspect it will look better in summer.

In the ground is better if you have poor well drained soil, though mine have been okay in plenty of compost and clay soil for a few years.  They’ll look better from above too ;)
