Hydrangeas - frost bite
I have pruned my hydrangeas and got rid of last years flower heads. Unfortunately, we had a frost for 2 nights this week and it seems the leaf buds at the top of some stems have suffered. They appear to going black and floppy - I assume this is frost bite. Should I remove the leaf buds affected and prune back to the next unaffected buds? It would mean removing a couple of inches. Or should I leave them and see what damage has been done and perhaps remove damaged leaves later on?
