Agree about the view, obviously previous owners weren't gardeners or is it a new build?
Soil type, sun and wind will have a bearing on what you can grow.
Have you children who need play equipment, do you need a garden shed, bbq area, bar or hot tub?
What are you like as a gardener, how much time do you have, how much hard landscaping do you want or afford.
With such a view and a lovely house I would get a garden designer in to give you some ideas, they can just do you a design or arrange the work and supply plants but a basic design is certainly worth it.

I agree with k67. A upward or downward slope is not so difficult but sideways as well makes it more complicated and I would certainly seek professional advice on making it easier to work on. That bit behind the white wall, below the fence looks pretty steep.
Once you have the hard landscape sorted the pretty stuff is easy (and fun).
