I have left my dahlia tubers in the ground over winter (well mulched). When can I expect to see shoots above ground?

    Depends where you live l leave quite a few in,and don't see any sign from them till mid summer, but then of course, you get the late show,

    I left all of my dahlias outside this year, some in the ground, some in containers. I have mulched them all with manure. No signs of any of them yet.

    I think I see signs of life from mine - in pots and plenty in the ground - around late May.
    The slugs and snails love them!

    Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

    If it helps reassure you; I've kept mine indoors over winter and planted them out about 3 weeks ago. I normally expect to see the first shoots around mid-April; so if yours have been out all winter especially with the recent cold snap I'd have thought you'd still be okay.
