suggested plants for wind and rain north facing

Hello 
I have a pathway between my house and next door. It can be like a wind tunnel and bears the brunt of the rain. Are there any robust large sized impactful plants that can live in pots and stand these harsh conditions. I like the spiky structural plants and anything with berries and or flowers . Here's hoping !   :)

    Ah, just checked those out and def a possibility. It says can live in pots and hardy in difficult areas . Thanks for advice!

    I would have thought also bamboo and you could try Nandina domestica.

    If there's room for a decent sized pot then, there are some conifers that might suit. Do your research carefully on final height and spread, but you would get a choice of foliage colour and style and could have both tall and short for variety. I've got some nice ones on my rockery, but they were planted so long ago that there is no longer any trace of their names, either on the labels or in my memory!
