Plant ID please also I have many
not sure what this is
I have many many stinging nettles
they have grown up my banks, how can I get rid of them
Sorry, not sure of the first couple offhand but I'll have a think.
The best way to deal with nettles I'm afraid is to dig them out - hard work but they'll only keep coming back if you don't.
The last picture I think is creeping buttercup, another nasty weed hard to get rid of but also needs digging out.
Hopefully the others might be able to positively identify them.
North East Somerset - Clay soil over limestone
Pic 1 is green alkanet - Pentaglottis
Pic 2 is Symphytum - you can make comfrey plant feed from the leaves
Pic 3 - nettles
Pic 4 - I think you have two plants here, possibly creeping buttercup with herb robert, Geranium robertianum
Thankyou so much Rachel ! You are so knowledgeable
