We’re after a few hellebores to add to our borders...appreciating we’ve let it too late for this years flowers...does anybody have or know where we can pick up some plants cheaply ready for next year?

I would try local garden centres and DIY superstores - you might find unsold stock being sold off cheaply now that the flowers have gone over and the plants are less appealing.

Hayloft normally do good value offers for hellebores - the Ellen series.  They come as small plants, which you need to grow on in pots for a while, but I got flowers from at least half of mine the following year, and the smaller plants establish better in my soil than the bigger ones from a GC.

There is one on the SGC website for £6.99 which you may not be prepared to pay. I got two really good ones from Twelve Nunns website as they seem to specialise in them and they also come at £6.99. Packed extremely well and established plants. As mentioned above you would do well to go to your local garden centre first to see if you can find any bargains. One of my favourite plants.  :)
