When to sow lawn grass seeds?

Hello,

Could you please advise when is the best time in the year to sow grass seeds? I watched some YouTube video where it was recommended to sow when the temperature is higher than 10 degrees (C).
Is it an average temperature of the day like now when it's warmer than 10 degrees during the daytime and lower than 10 degrees during the night time, or should 10 degrees be a minimum temperature even during nighttime?

Thanks

I think that now would be a viable time, maybe this weekend. If it's cold it will germinate more slowly, that's all. But if we get a warm spell it will start growing well.

I suspect it's too cold still and most of the seed will be eaten by the birds.  April is usually recommended because the soil is moist and the general temps are warm enough for seed to germinate quickly.

Don't know where you live but March is the perfect time in southern England.  April is excellent too.  If left until the summer you will need to water it regularly for 6-8 weeks if there is no rain.  September is another good month.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
