Although I potted all of mine at the same time, they are at very different stages of growth. I have no idea why that is.
I'll also be removing all my seedlings at night from the cold frame and getting them indoors as the next week night temperature is dipping below zero.

A few similar threads I wasn't saying plant them out,but if they are a good size the next step,in your case cold frame and well bubble wrapped.I found the frost forecast to be complete rubbish,I am in the SE UK 10 minutes from the sea, sheltered by the DOwns, our last frost are meant to be early April and are often late may

I've got two coming up now. One in a cold frame and one in the lean to. I notice we are going below zero early Monday morning (-3 possibly.) I gather that the tubers can survive down to -3(?), but the foliage won't. There seems to be a 4 degree difference between my cold frame and outside but I will still bring the sprouting one inside. Should I bring the rest in? Will covering with fleece (in the cold frame) suffice?

I’m bringing the lot in for the night for as long as that cold snap lasts to be on the safe side 🤞🏻

I've gone dahlia mad this year! I have put Fashion Monger (retrieved from a pot), Blue Bayou, Soulman, Verrone's Obsidian, Ludwig Helfert and Orange Pekoe (all new from Sarah Raven) into dry compost and they are in the outhouse (cold but frost free) by the window. I took a chance and put Nicholas, Sarah Raven and Berner Oberland in a v.large pot in a very sheltered, s. facing spot next to the wall by my porch; I have another dahlia Annie Joy still in its pot next to a warm s. facing wall with other pots around it and Dahlegria Bicolore still in the ground and mulched.  I pricked out my cactus dahlias and put them in my zip-up greenhouse affair a couple of weeks ago.  I'm not expecting to be potting the cactus dahlias on for another few weeks, and think they'll probably go into the garden mid-May.  Apart from the seedlings, everbody is still very much asleep!  I'll report back as to how they all do later in the season.  (My Dahlegria Bicolore's were spectacular last year!

My view is that people on here are very early planting their Dahlias up.
Mine are still boxed up in the porch and will not be planted in pots, in the cold g/h until mid April. They will go out to be transplanted into the ground in late May.

@punkdoc Yes, I think my enthusiasm got the better of me this year and I will be more patient next year

Hi @SophieK - I am in SW20 and have potted up the 10 tubers I bought at the end of March and kept them on a windowsill- they are all doing diff things . my seedlings are doing really well and everything is still indoors- I have a cold frame and a greenhouse- all new and am holding back,. Eg right now the GH is showing 8.4 degrees but April 7th went down to -2.38 - I  don't want to risk anything and will plant out end of May .I feel like I may need to take 2 weeks off work to do all the hardening off with the huge amount of seedlings I have also planted- Sophie if you want to meet up or exchange seedlings or tips or excesses - let me know ....

@selinasally Hi! I'd love to meet and chat and exchange seeds and seedlings. I only have a couple of grow houses and before the cold snap, the seedlings were happy there but I move all of them at night to my workshop, which is large and heated. Back and forth every morning and evening, it's laborious and time consuming but the seedlings seem happy with this weird regimen. For the tubers, I potted 5 also in March, and like yours, they are doing different things. I will send you a private message with my details so we can meet up (now that it's allowed :) )
