It will be difficult as it will have a large root ball. I would do it straight after flowering and would prune it after moving. It will need a lot of care for the first year after moving, with lots of watering.

Thanks Punkdoc, unfortunately I had to move it now. Its in the new place planted on a pile of compost. watering daily with a hose for about an hour. Should I thin it out or do any cutting now or wait until it’s settled in new location. I am in north Scotland. Buds are just starting to appear.

We moved a camellia last Autumn albeit much smaller at around 4 feet, kept it well watered and its doing really well and is in flower now.
