My late Granddad grew a tea rose called “Peace” in the 1960’s and it had a fab perfume.  My next door neighbour has a similar looking rose with exactly the smell I remember.

no idea without checking, whether Peace is still available.

Peace was to be named after Field Marshall Alan Brooke for his rôle in the liberation of France but he turned down the honour. Peace is the most widely grown cultivated rose in the world.

  • I remember these red roses similar to the 'Deep secret' but they are smaller in size and are mostly from hot countries in Asia.

However, I don't see them in London. They aren't very attractive but fragrance can beat any rose any day I believe. I just don't remember the name of this one.
