What tree to plant!

Hi all I wanted some advice and opinions . Our garden is slowly coming together and has changed from overgrown and unkempt to more of a blank canvas . We have a beautiful acer ( marked in yellow) and a beautiful magnolia ( marked in red) but the garden is too open and I wanted to plant a tree I the area marked blue . I was thinking of a golden weeping willow but would love your suggestions and ideas and whether you thinking the spot is ok . I know willows can be invasive , so is it too near the garage? Many thanks and I can’t wait to hear your ideas 😀

The golden weeping willow is a very nice tree but according to the RHS it gets to over 12metres in height and has a spread of over 8meteres which to my thinking might be a bit too big for that location. Maybe a smaller tree like Persian ironwood might be better but it depends what features you are looking for.

I think the weeping willow will soon be much too big for your garden ... it will totally dominate that space.

I'd go for a Cornus controversa 'variegata' ......... absolutely gorgeous

Thank you both . There so many great trees it’s so hard to choose . I think k I will take a break from a willow and choose another option . Thanks so much 😀

Willows are gorgeous but I briefly worked at an arboricultural consultants and they were a major cause of subsidence claims 😬
