Hedgehog or fox poo?

I put together a wildlife area in my garden last weekend with this hedgehog house and some logs under my hedge.

I found some poo on top of the house this morning and wondered if you thought it was a hedgehog or a fox.

  • ...that looks like fox - the smell will confirm that if you want to be absolutely certain.  Hedgehog poo is generally black, tubular, and about 1.5cm long.  Good luck - nice house!

    I second Fox, NOT hedgehog.

  • Thanks.  Thought it probably was fox, but it is normally runnier than that.  I am just pleased they didn't dig up the plants as well!  I have another smaller hedgehog house in the back garden and the foxes knocked that 6 foot across the garden.

To me it looks like cat for a fox to balance on there it could be a bit risky  but cat is smaller were there no footprints my cat has taken  to goin in my planters and he also sunbathes in them arghhh btw his not a house cat his a feral that goined us nany moons ago and took it upon himself to stay that was 12yrs ago lol
  • I'm glad you were not talking about the logs in the last photo. If you were if stay in at night!😂
  • I would vote for Fox too. Cats bury their poo and wouldn’t poo somewhere like that.
