Photonia Red Robin Help!

Morning.

Can these four ball trees be saved? Not an expert. Can they be hard pruned back to  trunk?

Thanks in advance.

keep them fed and watered and they should bounce back.
My guess is that they've dried out at some point.
The pots are a little on the small side.

Thank you. How hard can they be trimmed?  Want them back in some kind of shape.

I'd not prune them. They're showing new growth to the tips

  • Yes, that happened last year. Most new growth at ends. Middle stays bare.

I would try getting them back to better health before thinking about trimming them as they're already under stress at the moment.  Cutting them back would be too much for them to cope with l feel.
Is it possible to repot them if you can ? If not, l would concentrate on maybe giving them a top dressing of fresh compost and feeding and watering as @ Hostafan1 suggests.
