Ilex Meserveae Blue Angel

I have just bought this lovely holly shrub which looks like a female as it has berries.
Am I right in thinking I need a male version to produce further berries?
If so does it have a different name?
If it doesn't...apart from not having berries how could I be sure it is a male?

Blue Angel has male and female plants and they are not self- fertile. Yours is definitely a female if it has berries.
You may not need to get a male holly if there are any in gardens near you. it doesn’t need to be the same variety. Best to always check a reliable source such as the RHS as to whether a holly is male/female as the names are sometimes misleading.
