  • Any ideas about the red stuff? They look like they've been rolled in it - the way it's only got onto protruding bits, and not into the dimples. Are pesticide seed-dressings coloured - maybe so you can tell they've been applied?
  • The chances are they are a weed seed so sow them in a pot rather than in your garden.
    I am wondering if they might be sorrel seeds, they look familiar but I cannot recall definitely where I have seen them before. The red is natural colouring.

    They're not necessarily cultivated peas. They could be some of vetch.
