Last year was first year with an ensete, I cut off leaves and moved to greenhouse for winter. It looks rotten but not gone to mush so am hoping it will come back. When can I expect new growth and should I cut stem off and if so when?
Mine just lives in the polytunnel all winter and I just leave it do its own thing I never cut it , just the old leaves before it goes back into the garden
Same as Hosta, I leave the scruffy leaves on for a bit of extra winter protection, and usually October, they go into the greenhouse, technically we could (should) be able to keep ours outside, SE UK 10 minutes from the sea, never risked it. Did you grow it in a pot earlydaze?
no Nanny- in the ground and cut off leaves and lifted into a pot in greenhouse- have just been having a closer look- outside leaves very wet and mushy but seems better towards centre. I don’t think those wet leaves will be helping anything so am going to get those off.
