Tetrapanax Rex

we have we have a wonderful T Rex plant which had huge leaves last year. I covered it with fleece over Winter, but it now looks like the pic, when I uncovered it a couple of weeks ago. The brown growth is very flimsy. Shall I remove the leaves now, I can’t imagine they’ll grow.

Thanks

Leave it alone, and it'll be fine.

Those brown leaves are for now helping to protect the growing bud underneath.

It looks great. Also, check round its base for babies, called pups. They are easy to lift and use elsewhere.
