Amaryllis died and now has new buds where the flowers were

We planted this Amaryllis just after Christmas. It bloomed and flowered like we expected but then the flowers died and the bulb was rotten on the outside. We have a habit of overwatering. We peeled the outer layer off and the bulb was fine underneath. We have just left the plant and have not repotted or watered it since it died and these bulbs have appeared but I cannot find anything online about what they are!

What’s going on?!

Cut the seed head off at the top of the stem, if you intend keeping the bulb and hoping for it to flower again. Then put it outside for the summer.Give it a liquid feed while the leaves are growing.  Check that the pot has got drainage holes if not, pot it into a 6 inch pot with holes in the bottom.

And watch out for slugs. They're quite partial to them.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
